National Missions

Hurricane Katrina Aid

In response to the Hurricane Katrina disaster in the summer of 2005, OPPC collected over $10,000 (plus $2,500 from the Mission Endowment Fund) for victims' assistance.  In addition, we put together and sent dozens of health kits to the area.

Mission Trip

In 2005, OPPC began a new way of doing Mission with intergenerational experiences.  A dozen people,  ages 14 to 65, traveled to Miami, Florida, to work through the D.O.O.R.  

In 2006, more than thirty people, ages 7 to 70, went to our denominational Camp Duffield to rebuild the bathrooms and other work to care for the camp in preparation for the 2006 season.

Work Camp

Senior High Youth participate in a one week work camp the last week of June.  Together with their advisors, youth in grades 9 to 12 travel near (upstate NY) and far (South Carolina) to engage in mission work with various organizations.  This "mountain top" experience enables youth to put their faith in action as the hands and feet of Christ.
