The Presbyterian Church has a long history of emphasizing mission activities. The stated mission of the Orchard Park Presbyterian Church is "to know, love and serve God in our community and throughout the world." We believe that one of the most important ways to accomplish this goal is to reach out to others in need, whether locally, nationally or internationally.
We take our direction from Jesus himself who taught in Matthew 25: 37-40:
"Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?' The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'"
There are many ways in which you can get involved in helping others in need. If you would like to know more about the mission ministries at OPPC , please contact Linda Babcock, Director of Education and Mission. |
